Our Story
Bantare Impact Group was founded on the belief that communities, knowledge, systems and leadership already exist across West and Central Africa and are the most powerful drivers of transformation.
Founded by Aïcha Awa Ba, researcher, child protection specialist, and international development consultant with over a decade of experience across West Africa, BIG was built to be something different. Embedding itself in the ecosystems, systems, and communities it serves and centering the expertise and lived experience of those closest to the realities on the ground.
Over 20 countries
From our base in Dakar, Senegal, we have grown into an African-led social impact group with a presence across 20+ countries and a network of 50+ professionals and consultants.
Our Mission
To advance child protection, gender equality, and social protection in West and Central Africa by producing rigorous, contextually grounded knowledge and translating it into policy, practice, and leadership that communities themselves drive. Bantare closes the gap between what development systems promise and what people are experiencing by reshaping the practice of African socio-economic development.
